Answers to common questions about our irrigation products and services.

A drip irrigation system is a network of pipes, drip lines or laterals, emitters, filters, valves, fittings and other components designed to deliver controlled amounts of water directly to or near plant roots.

A drip irrigation system delivers water slowly and directly to the root zone of plants through drip lines and emitters. Water passes through filters and pipes before reaching the drippers, which release a controlled flow near each plant. This helps provide consistent moisture, improve water-use efficiency, and reduce unnecessary water loss during irrigation.

Drip irrigation can improve water-use efficiency, provide precise watering, reduce water wastage and support healthier crop growth. It can also help deliver water and nutrients more effectively to the plant root zone when properly designed and managed.

Drip irrigation can be used for a wide range of crops, including vegetables, fruits, orchards, vineyards, row crops, nurseries and greenhouse crops. The system should be selected and designed according to the crop, soil, climate and water requirements.

Choose a drip irrigation system based on crop type, soil characteristics, field size, water quality, available flow and pressure, plant spacing and irrigation requirements. Drip line specifications such as emitter spacing and flow rate should also match the application.

Inline drippers are integrated into the dripline at predetermined spacing during manufacturing, while online drippers are installed separately onto the pipe according to the required plant spacing. The suitable option depends on crop layout, plant spacing and irrigation requirements.

Regular filtration, proper system flushing and routine maintenance can help reduce emitter clogging. Water quality should also be considered when selecting filters and designing the irrigation system.

Drip irrigation systems can use different filtration solutions depending on water quality and system requirements, including screen filters, disc filters and other suitable filtration equipment. Proper filtration helps protect emitters and maintain consistent water flow.
